Industry looky-likeys

It's a worrying discovery that Kitchen Rat has made in the past few days... Dr Evil is heading up school food provision for local authorities in the UK.

The striking similarities between Austin Power's nemisis and Kevin McKay, chairman of the Local Authorities Caterers Association, must be a concern for Jamie Oliver as he tries to revolutionise school dinners. The two have already had a spat at a recent school food conference, but would Jamie have tackled McKay if he had known who he was facing?

Any other industry looky-likeys that you can think of let us know...

Is this the real Charles Campion?

Following another hard night slaving over the hot plate, I think Kitchen Rat has discovered a new catering looky-likey starring on national TV.... Whilst flicking through the channels on late night TV, I came across this guy... isn't he the spitting image of a rather large well known restaurant critic? So is Charles Campion moonlighting in the Family Guy on BBC 2 (www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/familyguy) late on a Sunday night! Let Kitchen Rat know what you think? Any other industry looky-likey's you've spotted on TV then give us a shout?

Ginger spice returns

I had to chuckle when I heard that the self-confessed party animal Ian Pengelley had resurfaced following the closure of his Knightsbridge restaurant Pengelleys. Ian's latest venture seems a perfect mix of business and pleasure for the flame-haired chef. He is offering to cook for super rich private clients in the comfort of their own surroundings, whether that be a private yacht or jet, penthouse or country pile. Not bad locations to ply your trade, I guess.
