A classic clip of The Muppets' character the Swedish Chef is doing the rounds on YouTube. Watch and weep as Sweden's national dish gets the treatment it deserves. Actually the Swedish Chef reminds me of another hapless Swede whose World Cup display was less inspiring than meatballs themselves - good luck Sven, we've seen enough!
Cheeky guidebook antics
Kitchen Rat's ears were flapping yesterday at lunch. I heard that the Alastair Sawday guides have been emailing VisitBritain's guidebook entrants asking them to sign up to the Sawday guides, which of course you must pay for. I heard the competitor rebuffed the approach, not least because the lists are commercial property. Sawday, whose inspection policy was recently called into question by former AA inspector David Young, apparently responded in typically cheeky fashion that he only solicited this list of properties as he knew they would be high quality properties that would have been inspected by VisitBritain!
