Chef Gordon Ramsay and his New York opening

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Gordon Ramsay's first New York venture is causing quite a stir in the UK, but I was wondering whether it was having a similar impact in the big apple itself... well a bit of surfing has found a few mentions on foodie websites across the pond, but not a huge amount of noise.

There's this mention on egullet, which gives it a pretty good write up, but there's not a lot of mentions elsewhere, perhaps New Yorkers don't care that much about chef Ramsay's debut in their city. But then there was this posting on eater.com, which alleges Ramsay's senior staff are considering quitting over a tips dispute. So perhaps he won't get such an easy ride out there - is cracking the US as a restaurateur as tough as cracking it as a pop star or band? Of course, Ramsay's new opening in New York is creating a big splash in UK with pieces in The Times and The Independent in recent weeks.
