And for my first book...

Everson Hewett co-founder Stuart Everson's recent leaving do was, by all reports, a self effacing sort of affair as has always been his, and business partner Jon Hewett's, style.

A informal party for friends and colleagues was held at the company's London Centre Point contract on the 18th floor of the tower.

It was a relaxed affair without any big speeches to see Everson off on his year-long sabbatical, which will see him spend time in locations such as Peru and Italy.

However, as happens at these sorts of events, gifts were given out and Everson received some lovely Mont Blanc pens.

Could this, and a healthy dose of spare time for the first time, be what Everson needs to awaken the poet in him? Are we about to see the birth of a new Dan Brown, author of the Da Vinci Code?

Well if the mood takes him one company insider joked: "Some people would say some of Stuart's past contract tenders have been works of fiction."

So here's to A Contract Caterer's Guide to Tuscany: Tender Memories, or maybe You Are What You Eat (Subsidy Permitting).
